You encounter 3M products every day, everywhere. Many of 3M's historic innovations have become an invaluable part of life for people around the globe. However, having advertised many of its brands - e.g. Post-it° Notes or Scotch-Brite"' Pads, 3M hardly ever advertised itself as a brand. We were asked to increase the awareness of 3M innovative brand by letting people experience the wide range of 3M products in one place.
You can buy 3M products in drugstore, stationery, DIY shops...but there has never been a store dedicated directly to the 3M products.
We set up a pilot 3M pop-up shop, located in one of the most frequented shopping malls in Prague. The shop was designed as a mini-showroom, where 3M products were displayed in matching environment - in a mock-up of a bathroom, an office, a storage room. People could test all the products and buy some on site. A virtual 2D hostess encouraged people to visit the store.
3M shop proved that this solution can be functional and relevant. We addressed more than 30 000 people and realized about 4 800 transactions for 4 weeks.
